  9. Recreated from watching my mother many long years ago so quantities may
  10. vary, but they're not critical anyway.

  12. Bacon Dressing and Wilted Lettuce

  14. 1 bowl of lettuce
  15. sliced purple onion to taste
  16. 6 slices bacon
  17. 3 Tbsp. sugar
  18. 1/2 cup or so white vinegar
  19.  
  20. Put the lettuce in a bowl and top with onions. Sprinkle with sugar.

  22. Cook the bacon in a frying pan. Remove, break into small pieces and
  23. put on salad. Add vinegar to the bacon grease. Bring to a boil, and
  24. pour over the salad. Toss and enjoy.
